Viewing Recordings

Once you have accessed the Recordings Library, you will see a list of all recorded sessions on your website. You can filter the recordings based on various criteria such as user demographics, device type, or specific actions taken on your site.

Click on a recording to view the session playback.

The Recordings player allows you to watch session recordings of user interactions on your website.

Playback Controls​

The Recordings player provides various playback controls to help you navigate through the session recording:

  • Play/Pause: Start or pause the session playback.
  • Forward/Backward: Move forward or backward in the recording.
  • Speed Control: Adjust the playback speed to view the session in slow motion or fast-forward.
  • Device Mockup: View the session recording in a device mockup to simulate the user experience.
  • Timeline Scrubber: Navigate through the recording timeline to jump to specific points in the session.
  • Full Screen: Expand the player to full screen for a better viewing experience.

Session Details​

The Recordings player also displays additional session details to provide context about the user interaction:

  • Session ID: Unique identifier for the session recording.

  • User Information: Details about the user, such as location, device type, and browser.

  • Session Duration: Length of the session recording.

  • Date and Time: Timestamp of when the session was recorded.

  • Entry and Exit Pages: Pages the user visited at the beginning and end of the session.

Filtering Events​

You can filter the session recording based on specific events or interactions to focus on key moments during the user session. Use the event filter to search for specific actions, such as clicks, scrolls, form submissions, or custom events. Click on any event type to toggle the filter and view only the relevant interactions in the recording.

By watching session recordings in the Recordings player, you can gain valuable insights into user behavior on your website. Observe how users navigate through your site, interact with different elements, and complete specific actions. Identify areas for improvement, optimize user flows, and enhance the overall user experience based on the recorded sessions.
